ADDICTED TO PORK CHOPS

OK. I am going to make it my aim in life to try pork chops from as many places in Nassau as possible. Today alone, I had pork chops for lunch from Grants Town Tavern, and later on I had the Salt & Pepper Pork Chops from VIP. Yum yum!

The lady at Grants Town Tavern was dressed like a real chef or sous chef, complete with hat. Which is not usual for little out the way places that happen to sell food. At about $9, it was more than the $8 dinner at Net's on Deveaux St (found out what the place was named!), and only included one chop. But the healthy portion of Beans 'n' Grits made up for it, although it is physically impossible for me to eat that amount of carbs at one sitting, not to mention the okay-ish macaroni and the corn. So some lucky potcake will get some leftover grits and pork chop bones today.

VIP has to be one of my all-time fave Chinese restaurants in Nassau. I know the reputation, but I figure that as long as I don't actually SEE the sweat dripping into the pot, then it is not happening. They could put their tiny little feet into it as long as it tastes good and doesn't make me hurl. The meat (he-he) was tender (no fur) and seasoned, nicely browned and covered with chopped scallions. Rice ain my friend, so I could care less how it tasted, but VIP doesn't let me down on the protein.

Enough hog for one day. Enough eating too. It is 5:15PM and I won't eat again until steamed sausage in the morning. And then I need to eat some salad, dammit.

WINE TIME! Happy Hour here I come!!
